Who Is Reid Winslow?

Reid Winslow was born on the East Coast, growing up in Brooklyn before it was considered chic. Mentored by a man known as The Great Sandino, he mastered sword swallowing and fire eating, before enrolling in law school eventually landing as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City. In the late eighties, he tried the first case of what was then called “computer trespass”.  The defendants accessed the state payroll computer, generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in overtime. After they were convicted the New York Daily News quipped: “Doing Time for Overtime”.

Seeking a change of scenery, he migrated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where he continued to practice as a trial lawyer. During his more than three decades of practice he had a chance to become an acute observer of the human condition. He often saw people at their very best and absolute worst.

Much of what is in his novels comes from personal experience.   He eventually wrote his first novel The Dead Bell, which was reviewed by Kirkus as one of the 1000 best Indy books of 2022, calling it “a fabulous well-researched whodunit”.

He went on to write his second novel Risk Management, a taut literary thriller blending psychological insight with drama and a touch of romance. His third novel “The Twig Is Bent” is in the works.
